TDPs of NWA, SWA, Kurram, Orakzai and Khyber to go back soon to their areas.

 

  • Peshawar (May 3, 2018): A high level meeting regarding finalization of leftover families return plan, Rehab Plan and associated requirements of Five tribal agencies i-e North and South Waziristan, Kurram, Orakzai and Khyber agency was held at main office of FDMA Peshawar with D.G FDMA Sirajul Haq in the chair and attended by representatives of 11 core, TDP secretariat, HQ, FC North and South, HQ 7 and 9 divisions, Political administrations of all the five agencies and line departments from Fata secretariat.
  • DG FDMA briefed the participants over the overall plan of the TDPs return and their rehabilitation in their respective areas. He also advised the political administration of the five agencies to put forward their proposals about the rehabilitation and other requirements of the TDPs after repatriation to their respective areas. The meeting also decided to ensure provision of drinking water, Health facilities, Education and tents etc in case of damaged houses where needed.
  • It was told to the participants that TDPs from, South Waziristan, Orakzai, Kurram and Khyber were previously granted VRFs and also return cash grants to the TDPs of the above cited four agencies but they were not returned physically due to seasonal hindrances.
  • DG FDMA apprised further that according to the fresh return plan, TDPs of Khyber Agency, Kurram, Orakzai and South Waziristan were scheduled to be repatriated physically within the given timeframe.
  • In the meeting representatives of Pak Army also declared that the areas given in the fresh return plan were cleared in level three and the TDPs return to those areas was safe though some of the areas were in dire need of rehab activities.
  • The Political Administration’s representatives also put forward their suggestions and requirements to the forum which were thoroughly discussed and the following important decisions were taken.
  •  It was unanimously concluded that CLCP surveys will be expedited to help the effected families in early settlement.
  •  RRU will arrange meetings at agency level to identify immediately required schemes in consultation with pol. admn and LEAs. It was also decided in the meeting that Donors will be contacted to ensure provision of NFIs (Non Food Items), Ramzan package and Eid packages for the freshly repatriated families in all the five agencies.
  • It was also decided that WFP will be requested for provision of food items/ration to these families for at least three months.
  • DG FDMA told the reps of the political administration that in case of vulnerabilities FDMA will provide tents to the deserving families upon return.
